As part of the SURE event, I had the opportunity to explore various approaches to redesigning urban coastlines, taking into account the needs of citizens and stray dogs/cats, as well as the challenges posed by climate change. To develop solutions, we collaborated in groups to brainstorm ideas and concepts, which we later presented. Additionally, through an excursion in the city of Istanbul, including visits to parks and urban gardening projects, I gained valuable insights.
Please share in few sentences your most exciting learnings during the SURE event:
One of the most exciting realizations of the Summer School for me was the inspiring feeling of being part of a committed community dedicated to the common goal of creating a more sustainable world. It was particularly motivating to see that so many people share the same values and are actively working towards positive change. The Summer School gave me valuable insights into how I can incorporate innovative approaches and ideas into my studies and career. Networking with like-minded people made me realize the potential we have to develop successful long-term projects with the common goal of creating sustainable change and giving the environment a voice.
