Please share in few sentences your most exciting learnings during the SURE event:

A lot of the topics addressed in the Summer school ‘URBAN + COAST’ were new for me, and I got to understand how they are interlinked with each other. Before, I didn’t quite realise how important the societal factors for sustainable urban design are. I was particularly surprised by urban agriculture. I found the idea of establishing agriculture in the city exciting. Something is going to be planted anyway, so why not to plant something edible or useful? I also enjoyed the lectures about environmental education. I realised that in higher education the topic didn’t come up at all and how important it actually is at an age when you start making your own decisions and shaping your own interests. Furthermore, the international atmosphere was particularly inspiring, since it made it possible to exchange experiences with participants from different countries and with different perspectives.
