SURE Symposium in Tabriz (Iran) and opening of the first SURE office at an academic partner
The SURE symposium “Climate change and urban ecosystem management” was held on 22 February 2025 at University of Tabriz (Iran). It was attended by Prof. Dr. Breuste – president of SURE – and Prof. Dr. Ioja – treasurer of SURE – as well as 27 professors and academic members, 150 students and researchers in person, and 78 other people online. The event was organized by Prof. Dr. Rahimi – SURE EC member and leader for the SURE Iran Chapter. It was very successful and very much valued by the Iranian academic society. It shows the constant support of SURE for international cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, the SURE Iran chapter opened the first SURE Office in an academic partner institution. The symposium was opened in the presence of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology of University of Tabriz and four key speakers who presented the results of scientific research related to climate change and how to manage urban ecosystems in the face of these changes. A field visit to specific urban ecosystems and an excursion were conducted with students and researchers.
